A Helping Hand
David, Angelo and Jack watched the sunrise together this morning. No, they haven't returned from an all-nighter; they’ve spent the morning volunteering at the ‘Breakfast Challenge’ for The Whitechapel Mission as part of the social value initiatives for the Davis Polk project, along with BW Interiors. For no other reason than to do good, the guys were up at 4.30 am, cooking over a hot stove and doing their part to help those in need in East London.
There’s no greater feeling than giving or helping without expecting anything in return, is there? With strict rules of no photography and no phones, we have yet to hear how the morning went…. With what will be one of those ‘putting things into perspective’ moments, thoughts and feedback from the team will be included in next month's newsletter. Fair play, guys!
The work
Shuhel, Lee and Angelo successfully completed the fit-out for Synthomer’s new London office. Having relocated to Victoria, in the newly refurbished Greycoat Stores Building, which was originally built in the 1870s for the Army & Navy Co-operative Society as a grocery warehouse. It was recently redeveloped by the landlord, retaining many of its original design features. Working with the contractor, Thirdway, the design was developed in keeping with its original surroundings and adapting the Cat A to produce a high level of finish and a stylish new head office for the business.
Shuhel, Angelo, Lee and David recently completed an impressive project for an Investment Management firm located in Dover Street, Mayfair. Working closely with the US client and their project team, the team collaborated with the Design & Build contractor, Peldon Rose to create a magnificent office space spanning two floors. With features including a new link staircase and an adjoining 7-metre-high living wall, it's spacious and modern. Accommodating over 100 members of staff, you can't miss the beautiful collection of plant life and greenery, alongside modern facilities on each floor.
Four further completed projects and five wins throughout June, ERA have worked hard again with growing and maintaining relationships. It’s always great to meet people from all walks of life, and likeability is key! So, meeting a new client who hopes you have a palatable tongue and a similar taste for Whiskey, you can't help but think June has been an interesting and successful month!
The play
Of course, we can’t NOT mention Glastonbury, can we? Henry was incredibly lucky to have been given a last-minute ticket, so while the rest of ERA watched The Prodigy from home, Henry was seen on TV havin’ it large! Jack, who attends every year, has yet to reveal whether he chose the iconic band over Olivia Rodrigo. So, who do we fancy as next year's headliners? Oasis? Lady Gaga? Who's your pick?
David and Angelo head to Kaleidoscope next week to see the one and only Faithless, and Lee is still holding onto his Northern routes watching Sam Fender in Newcastle once again. And of course, in next month's newsletter, Oasis WILL be mentioned.
As we continue into Summer, keep hydrated, wear sunscreen, and have fun!
David, Henry and the team.
